Job Description

Job Description
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Picker at our cabinet manufacturing facility. The Picker plays a crucial role in ensuring that the production line has the necessary materials and components to meet manufacturing targets. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  1. Material Retrieval:
    • Receive picking orders or production schedules indicating the required materials and components for cabinet assembly.
    • Locate and retrieve materials, such as wood panels, hardware, and accessories, from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
    • Ensure that the materials picked match the specifications and quantities specified in the picking orders.
  2. Inventory Management:
    • Update inventory records by documenting the quantities of materials picked and returned to stock.
    • Report any discrepancies or shortages in inventory to the appropriate supervisor or inventory control personnel.
    • Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Inspect materials for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before picking to ensure that only high-quality components are used in production.
    • Notify supervisors of any quality issues or concerns identified during the picking process.
  4. Order Fulfillment:
    • Prioritize picking orders based on production schedules and deadlines.
    • Coordinate with other departments, such as assembly and shipping, to ensure timely delivery of materials to the production line.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Handle materials with care to prevent damage or injury, following proper lifting and handling techniques.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environment preferred.
  3. Familiarity with warehouse operations, including material handling and inventory management.
  4. Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and recording inventory transactions.
  6. Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  7. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  8. Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  9. Commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
